The Praetor 600 is a super midsize jet from Embraer with a flat floor, a stand up cabin and fly by wire controls. It carries 8 to 12 passengers and flies 4,018 nautical miles, which is farther than its Legacy 500 predecessor. Embraer still builds it.
The Praetor 600 grew out of the Legacy 500, which Embraer launched in 2008. The Legacy 500 first flew on 27 November 2012 and was certified in August 2014. Embraer introduced the Praetor 600 at the NBAA convention in October 2018. Brazil's aviation authority certified it in April 2019, and the first delivery was on 28 June 2019.
Compared with the Legacy 500, the Praetor 600 has two extra fuel tanks under the fuselage, stronger Honeywell HTF7500E engines and larger winglets. Range grew from 3,125 to 4,018 nautical miles. Its synthetic vision guidance can lower the decision height on some approaches from 200 ft to 150 ft.
By the third quarter of 2026, Embraer had delivered 173 Praetor 600 jets. Flexjet began taking Praetor deliveries in December 2019 under an order for 64 Embraer jets.
