  • PPL(A): Private pilot license (45 flight hours minimum, 25 with instructor, 10 solo including cross-country), internationally recognized, operates single-engine piston land aircraft up to 2 tons in daylight, from age 16 training/age 17 license
  • LAPL(A): Light aircraft license (30 flight hours minimum, 15 with instructor, 6 solo including 3-hour cross-country), single-engine piston or TMG up to 2,000 kg with 3 passengers, EASA countries only, easier acquisition and lower medical requirements than PPL
  • Night Flight Authorization: 5 flight hours including aerodrome rounds, 5 take-offs/landings solo, cross-country to commercial airports like Cologne-Bonn or Frankfurt-Hahn
  • Seaplane Rating (SEP(sea)): 8 flight hours on Piper PA18A Amphibian, 2-3 days training, complete training €3,150 incl. VAT plus €180 examiner fee, PPL-A or LAPL-A eligible

  • Piper PA-18 Super Cub: Aviation history icon, O-320 150 hp Lycoming, two aircraft (one amphibious for seaplane training, one land version for tailwheel training)
