It was a breeze and stress-free working with RT, the case was settled satisfactorily within a short period of time. We dealt mostly with Chua Beng Chye. The firm was successful, persistent and proactive on all matters, however there were some issues with they way they handled the engagement: 1. Nearly a year later, and with us sending over S$100k in 'deposits', we have no invoices or trust account statements, notwithstanding us asking for and following up that matter. We only got BS excuses as to why this standard legal and financial documentation was never and still has not been done. 2. They seemed to treat us as an endless money pit, and asked us to send liquidators and lawyers from New Zealand to Singapore to meet with officials to resolve situations that didn't seem to matter or to be worth the tens of thousands of dollars of expenses actually incurred. 3. They referred us to a Singapore liquidator (Acutus) who was not proactive and didn't communicate what was going on, with 150+ days of delays and little progress on resolving them. The liquidators then got offended at my follow up and the subtle suggestion they ought to have made better progress, and misrepresented what I wrote to them, lied about what they wrote, and blamed me for their own errors and misunderstandings. 4. When I asked Beng to assist in resolving the above issue, seeking to avoid further offence, and to follow up on an unmet expectation on receipt of a copy of a court order issued 25 days earlier (which Beng said we should get on the day, and which he could have easily addressed earlier with a fairly simple explanation) he became very unprofessional, offended and quit the engagement. I would have liked to have been able to give a more positive review, alas, I can't.

Bought a piece of property where the developer who was using Rajah and Tann. The staff called me 4 times in a row and on the 5th time when i picked after coming out from a meeting, after saying they were from rajah and tann aggressively asked if i had a lawyer and refused to explain why they were calling (as my understanding was that rajah and tann should not be contacting me as due to conflict of interest as they are representing the developer). When i mentioned to call back because she is not (or refusing to) giving me any head or tails of the situation. She went "Half an hour?! That is 9.15pm!" And i was yes. I am still in the office and i need to understand what she needed. Her reply was "I am still in the office!! 9.15pm. You are sure 9.15pm ar!!" This is really unprofessional. I did not give rajah and tann my contact and that attitude that came with the phone call was really unbecoming of someone representing the Rajah and Tann name.
