4 weeks agoWorst bank I have ever used. Corporate policies are downright scams and having the only way to get customer service through the phone and a 1+ hour wait should be illegal. Supposedly you can do things online but literally anything besides doing a basic cash deposit or paying your bill requires you to call in. If you bank with BofA I highly recommend you LEAVE and do literally anything else for banking. Cashing checks and keeping your money in an old pillowcase would be better. A credit union would be best.

3 weeks agoI will never do business with Bank of America again. I've had multiple instances of awful customer service, culminating in a denied chargeback request when a contractor defrauded me. If you have a BOA credit card, don't think this company will act in an honest and ethical manner. Don't use their card for anything, because it's clear that Bank of America actively supports fraud and deception by merchants who accept their credit cards. 11/02/24 - editing to include my response to Bank of America's reply to my initial review. I previously reached out via Facebook. Nobody from your company bothered to contact me. It's beyond clear that you don't actually care in the least about your customers. I'm sure the "feedback" you provide to your "leadership team" will convince them to act honestly and ethically . . . if only I could find a sarcasm emoji to post after that statement. So, nice job by the PR team of trying to save some face. And, as usual, it's garbage customer service provided by a garbage company.

4 months agoMy experience with Bank of America has been incredibly frustrating. On multiple occasions, after canceling transactions or orders, I've been charged anyway. The most concerning part is when these transactions disappear, and the money never returns to my account. When I contacted customer service, I spent hours on the phone only to be told, "It doesn't show on your side, but it shows on ours, so just trust us." Why should I trust a bank that took hours to locate the transaction in their own system? It seemed like the representative couldn't solve the issue and was becoming annoyed. This reflects poorly on the bank and its poorly trained employees. I strongly advise checking your statements monthly; I've personally found money missing. Bank of America has been dishonest and untrustworthy in handling my finances.

2 months agoBOA allowed fraudulent checks to be written against my business account for months. There were 3 checks written with the same check number but had 3 different names with 3 different amounts that BOA allowed to be cashed. This happened with several checks on my account. They then denied ALL claims & basically told me too bad. They told me I should have noticed it in a timely fashion. I will be proceeding with legal action against BOA. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR OVER 25 YEARS.

3 months agoThis is actually a review for Merrill Edge, but since Bank of America owns Merrill Edge and you can’t leave a review for MerrillEdge, so be it. I wish I had the option to choose negative stars. My mother passed away in April. To transfer the money from her IRA to her estate, I had to set up a new account. Four months later, I’ve submitted paperwork five times, called at least ten times, and no progress at all. Worst customer service experience ever. I recommend choosing any bank other than Bank of America. And definitely don’t choose Merrill for your retirement account.
