The Las Vegas Convention Center’s new West Hall is an impressive addition that brings some serious shine to the overall convention experience, especially during the annual SEMA show. Every year, SEMA draws thousands of small business owners from around the world, filling up the entire convention center, and the West Hall gives a modern edge to the massive space. The West Hall itself is bright, open, and expansive—definitely a game-changer for accommodating the huge crowds and innovative exhibits that SEMA is known for. However, as much as I appreciate the design and the state-of-the-art features, there’s one thing that stands out as a design flaw: the lack of an entrance at the corner of Paradise Road and Convention Center Drive. During SEMA, walking up to the West Hall feels like a tease. You see where you need to be, but the doors are only accessible from farther along, forcing a roundabout journey to the middle of the building before doubling back inside. For anyone who’s already lugging equipment or just eager to dive into the action, this entrance design feels counterintuitive and unnecessarily tiring. On the plus side, once inside, the West Hall is stunning, with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and a layout that truly brings out the best in every exhibit. And having been to SEMA here, I can confidently say that this hall is a fitting venue for the world’s largest gathering of small business owners and automotive enthusiasts. Overall, I’m excited to see how the space continues to evolve, but here’s hoping they rethink the entrance logistics to make it as smooth as possible for future shows.

I had a good experience at the Las Vegas Convention Center for 2024 EVO. The place is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of bathrooms in good condition. There are a lot of escalators, which made getting around easier, though some moving walkways would be nice. The food court could use more variety. The burger place listed two vegan options but didn't have either when I tried to order. The server seemed surprised, even though it was on the menu. The taxi queue was very helpful, and being close to the Westgate Hotel was convenient. We could walk inside almost the whole way. The staff was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I would come back. Just hoping for more food options next time.

Very large convention center, I got to see the central area. There is a North and South area. Many bathrooms, an area to refill your bottle with drinking water. Many rooms and halls. It is normally used to hold very large events and conventions. I visited the place for Defcon, a cybersecurity convention. It is next to the Wyn and Encore. You can only get there by taxi or Uber, walking depends on which hotel you are staying at. There is a Marriot in front of the convention center but it is usually full and without reservations. About 3 km away is the Fashion Mall, many shops and restaurants to eat. It is 10 miles from the Convention Center to the Paris Hotel or the Bellagio Hotel. I walked that distance once and ended up super tired and with sore feet. It is clean and there is security.

This is one of America's largest convention centers. With more than four million square feet of space. The ceiling heights are impressive. The North, South, Central, and the West Halls are separated by wide hallways or outdoor space. The convention center is adjacent to the Westgate Hotel where additional meeting rooms and ballrooms are located. This is the best convention center in America.
