2 months agoAs a FAA certified small UAS pilot, this was the first time I've flown at an airport. Staff was helpful directing me to the towers phone number. Air traffic control was extremely polite. The mission was dangerous since the airport was class Delta, tons on traffic(EAA) Still in an uncontrolled airspace, zone class G and with the proper authorization- LANNC approval and from the tower and manageable for a drone pilot to see in between the cockpit and lawn chair! -Thank you Fond du Lac County Airport

2 years agoI flew in for AirVenture and caught a flat tire landing . EAA Chair of Fond du Lac Larry Wunsch helped me change the flat and told me I could camp there instead of Oshkosh campsite for $75 for the week. I decided to stay there after I saw I would not be able to fly into Oshkosh because of the aircraft traffic going in. It was a great camping experience. The showers were clean and the staff were great. They had a shuttle charter bus that took you to Oshkosh. It was a lot easier then flying into Oshkosh.

3 years agoFlew in to KFLD for Oshkosh this year. Everyone was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The controllers in the temporary tower were outstanding. Asking everyone where we came from, welcoming the pilots. Just super warm and friendly. Same with the linesmen who fueled us up and the staff inside. I felt like everyone there was bending over backwards to serve everyone. Took the shuttle to the show and back. Can’t say enough about how smoothie an operation they had. Especially for such a busy time as AirVenture. We will see you next year!!.
