For student pilots and renters; great flight training with safe and dedicated instructors. Good planes with pretty good availability. Definition of a good Part 61 school.
For aviation enthusiasts, it’s a nice spot to look at airplanes or park your own. People/homeowners here are nice and conversational. Always ready with a fun flying story.
Interesting little field to visit with some challenging approaches in both ends. They have fuel and a really nice little FBO/pilot lounge. I wasn't expecting such a nice pilot lounge on site, and the people were very friendly.
Back in the early 90's my flight instructor tells me to fly to Crest Airport after just learning touch and Go's at Renton Airport. Because of the Trees on Final. I kind of lost it and told the pilot to take control. Not a good Airport for somebody that is just learning how to fly. I was mad at my Instructor for putting us in this situation.
What a GREAT experience!! I had never been in a small airplane before and have always wanted to try it...The instructor Jameson even let me fly the plane a little!! I would recommend this highly for a date or just to go have a good time! WHAT A BLAST!!
Horrible experience!! The facilities are old -and run down-, the main manager Rikki Birge is rude and vindictive, their aircrafts are not safe, and half-way through your flight training, they charge you for things that are not specified in the service contract agreement. Learn to fly somewhere else.
