8 years agoGreat experience! Blue Ridge Aviation can help you get your pilot's license. Whether you are looking to become a light sport pilot or have the dream to pursue aviation as a career, Nathan, the owner, and his staff are very professional, while still being approachable, down to earth, and fun to work with along side. They are also equipped to help you achieve your piloting goals. I first started my pilot training at a small airport where the instructors were only interested in gaining hours, as a result, I was not able to get the support I needed to follow through until I came to Blue Ridge Aviation. I started training for my private pilot rating and am now working on my commercial ratings. They also have connections to Blue Ridge Community College. I took the Instrument class and it was very informative and the teaching was geared as a "hands on approach", combining classroom and the cockpit. I highly recommend them and have not been disappointed. If you are willing to work to achieve your goals, they are too.

4 years agoAlex, Sarah and all the staff I’ve met at BRA have been very kind and helpful since I started renting seasonally in 2019. The checkout and rental checkout process has always been straightforward and relatively easy, and the mandatory renters insurance is a plus for an enthusiast. Many times I’ve been able to call and schedule a flight within a day or two, if not the same day! Which is awesome for those visits home from university where you pop in cruise the around the valley. Can’t wait to see where the future brings them, maybe I’ll pickup an additional rating from them too

7 years agoTook my part 107 there and they had the nicest staff. I called on Monday and scheduled my test for Tuesday that same week. Very simple process with them. I was unable to register online after taking the test with FAA and they were friendly with the help they gave me that allowed me to be able to properly register. Thank you to the staff at Blue Ridge Aviation for all of the assistance and for making the process so easy.

3 years agoIncredible experience on a sightseeing flight with Colton L. A very flexible and friendly instructor, and the flight school as a whole has excellent prices, with no added fees for time spent on the ground, meaning the atmosphere is very relaxed and there’s no rush in ensuring safety and comfort. One thing I would note is that while flights are available 7 days a week, the office hours are limited. Outside of the office hours, the phone goes straight to answering machine. It’s not ideal for something as weather-dependent as aviation to have no way to contact anyone!
