Just Received my Private Pilot license after training with Marcair. I felt Very Overprepared for my Checkride. Very friendly atmosphere, I enjoyed the training experience. Travis was a very thorough instructor, focusing more time on areas I was weaker on and not wasting time just to check mark a box I'm sure many other instructors elsewhere do. Tera worked with my sometimes complicated work schedule to get me the flights I needed. They genuinely care about your training and push you hard to succeed which makes the best aviators all around. I would sign up again if I was starting all over and would recommend training here for any of my friends. Alliance airport is a nice mixture of simple general aviation and a complex Towered airport environment with Amazon moving in a few years ago. Not to mention the occasional airshow of Military aircraft on training flights.
My son recently turned 17 and is nearing the end of his training at Marcair. The experience we’ve had has been great. Tera, has done most of the scheduling and has been straight forward, accommodating and done her best to allow for my sons busy schedule with school and athletics. We’ve not always been able to get the slots we would like, but that’s understandable. She’s returned our calls even after hours and communicated very effectively with both me and my son.
With respect to the CFI, Neil has been great as well as Jonathan on the ground lessons. They both have been prepared and ready to teach and engage with my son. As a pilot myself, I’m happy with the results and more importantly my son is happy with how his training is going. I would and have recommended Marcair.
What a great flight school. Everyone there is very attentive to each individuals needs and have the wherewithal to adjust accordingly. They are professionals among professionals. Their dedication to providing the best possible training for anything aviation from first contact to course completion and beyond is obvious. At Marcair there is no distinguishment or delineation between career airline pilots or regular civilian pilots because they produce one thing; well educated, well informed, prepared and highly capable professionals. Schedules are flexible, newer updated aircraft are always available, and the training is top notch. Highly recommend.
Took my son for discovery flight for his birthday. I called the week prior to schedule. When we arrived at the scheduled day and time, there wasn't anything in the system about his flight. There were no instructors available. Thanks Marcair for ruining his birthday present.
My 16 year-old son began his aviation lessons with Marcair last summer. He looks forward to a career in the military hopefully in aviation. Initially, Marcair was great. They worked hard to pair him with a military instructor who took his job instructing seriously.
His grandfather started him of by buying a small package. My son paid for all future lessons.
He got busy with school and started up again this summer. His first lesson was a disappointment. His instructor appeared disheveled at 7am. The instructor agreed to allow an adult teacher to ride in the backseat during the lesson. But then decided that is was too windy (no crosswind) to fly. Ok. That’s his call.
Next day… the instructor agreed to fly (even though the wind was similar), but Tera (receptionist?) refused to allow the adult back-seater.
In a phone call with Tera the next day, she was rude and actually argued with me about how old my son is.
She followed up by sending me their “no refund” policy. Today, I asked for their written policy on no back-seaters with minors. She told me that it is the industry standard. (That’s odd because I, my brother, father, mother, etc are all pilots. I have never heard of such a policy and all the Marcair pilots that we have asked are fine with an adult riding in the back seat.)
I responded that she is free to enforce her policy and we are free to choose our flight school as well as any reviews we give them.
Within an hour, Tera cancelled all my son’s scheduled flights. Even though HE PAID for the flight training, Tera refused to honor their contract.
I highly recommend finding another flight school as long as Tera is employed by Marcair. She is petty and vindictive. Her behavior represents the worst example of customer service: a young lady on a power trip who retaliates again a young man who paid his hard earned money because she got mad at his father.
