I have been doing business with David and his team for over ten years. They have done my annual inspections, avionics upgrades and an IO550 engine upgrade and STC over this period of time. David has always provided competitively priced services and exceptional work. His commitment to the customer and ensuring that quality work is done in an appropriate amount of time have been consistent and unwavering over the years.
Learned to fly here. I maintain my airplane here. They are dependable, accommodating and solution oriented. They always take me in without delay every time a maintenance issue on my airplane comes up. They keep me in the air. It is extremely good to know that I have such a talented team behind me.
We had our plane there for months for a pre-buy and annual inspection. Took them much longer to complete then initial 2-3 weeks stated, but we were ok with that part.
Flew up after annual inspection to pick up plane. During test flight, tanks appeared to be draining unevenly. Dave adjusts the vent tube to fix possible venting issue and on next test flight bladder is leaking from vent tube area. Obviously the adjustment of the vent tube caused the leak, but we didn’t point fingers because the bladder was original and likely just a matter of time before it breaks on its own. Dave tells everyone they were going to remove the old Loran, remove ADF and do new weights and balances as a courtesy after they replace the bladder. Dave also offered to drive us 8/9 hours round trip to Sacramento area to my friends house after we realized we weren’t flying our plane home. Super generous to offer that, but we flew home from Medford.
Back to maintenance….fuel bladder replacement cost we got hosed. We feel like our “free” outdated avionics and weights/balances were just absorbed into the cost of the fuel bladder replacement since it was so high. When we flew up there to pick up the plane the second time, it was waiting “ready to go” on the tarmac. Fuel drain plug they just worked on was not safety wired and anti-collision light mysteriously missing lense since last visit. They fixed those issues after we pointed them out, but those were pretty obvious and should not have been overlooked.
During replacement of the fuel bladder, they took out interior panels. Ripped headliner pretty bad but it appeared to be original 50 year old headliner so not too upset as fabric may have been somewhat brittle from age. They did leave the rear courtesy light switch dangling in the panel, which we didn’t realize until after we departed.
Messaged Brandon over a month ago asking for a credit back so we can have the switch reinstalled here. Said he’ll talk with Dave and get back. Nothing back for 3 weeks so I message 2 more times asking for a follow up. Nothing back again. Finally send 3rd and last message saying I’ll leave appropriate reviews and he responds with a message about “how great they took care of us and they were going to send a check for the light switch.” Funny how I finally got a response after I told him appropriate reviews were going to be made. Review or not, let’s see if he sends a check back for the switch. I’ll update this review if they do.
I don’t feel I was taken care of so greatly like Brandon claims. Took 2 months for them to do my pre-buy/annual when they told us initially just a couple weeks. They apologized about the delay, but still frustrating. Charged us excessively for a few things. I shared my invoice with my local A/P and he agreed the charges were incredibly high and unsubstantiated. My local A/P replaced our other bladder once we made it home for 1/3 of the cost I was charged by Pacific.
Pacific has been maintaining my Ercoupe for several years. They are a bit of a different aircraft. Their mechanics do a good job for me. I appreciate a thorough annual inspection on such an old aircraft as well. I have known everyone there for a few years.
I started a massive restoration of my Mooney 20 years ago. Dave and Brad were there to help oversee this project from beginning to end. When knowledge and experience count, it was nice to know that Dave was there to help. Thank you!
