Did a discovery/introductory flight here, very friendly and helpful. Can tell safety is a priority here, along with a passion for aviation. Matt the owner (also CFI) went above what I expected, calling me twice when weather was an issue the day before and day of my scheduled time, (had to reschedule twice because of weather) very nice, understanding of it being a little while before I can start (not demanding or pushy). Job, the CFI I took my introductory flight with took the time to do a preflight briefing and went over checklists he was very knowledgeable, and a very good instructor (not just trying to collect money, actually seems to enjoy teaching). I highly recommend them to anyone around OKC Metro or Oklahoma in general, looking into flight training to go here, A+++
I recently completed my introductory flight, and had a great experience. My first few appointments had to be rescheduled, but Matt Cole was super helpful and responsive during the process. Blue sky's plane was well maintained and I felt super safe for my first time flying experience. Job was my flight instructor, he was super knowledgeable and a great instructor.
After many years of inactivity, I decided to get back into flying. After looking around the area, Blue Skies seemed to offer what I was looking for, so I booked an introductory flight to refresh what I had learned so many years ago, and to see if I really wanted to continue. I met Matt Cole, owner and instructor, and was immediately put at ease by his relaxed demeanor. The aircraft he offers appear well maintained by a local IA, and are in good, clean condition. If you're considering flight training, I highly recommend considering Blue Skies. The $100 introductory flight is money well spent!
I'm almost done with my license here at blue skies. I've learned so much, but most of all I've made a good friend in the flying community. Matt Cole is absolutely the best when it comes to finding a CFI. He's calm and easy going and is the greatest teacher I've had with flying. He's always one step ahead of you and is extremely knowledgable at the art of flying. I'd recommend Blue Skies to anyone!
This isn't your typical flight school. Not by a mile. You might have to dig to find it, but this sleek, clean, modern school was founded by an uncommonly great individual – Matt Cole. Matt survived a plane crash 20 years ago – a crash that wasn't his fault. The fiery crash severely burned Matt. He spent months in a coma, after which "Every doctor I talked to told me about something else I would never be able to do again," Matt said, "But I wanted to fly."
Eight years after the accident, he went up in the air again – in the same model of plane. I can't imagine a better teacher. Someone who has seen it all, and someone who can inspire others with his modest bravery, perseverance and unrelenting positive attitude. I felt so comforted knowing I was flying with a pilot who had seen and survived the worst of it. But beyond that, I continue to be in awe of this man's resilience and tenacity. Go learn to fly from a pilot who can teach you so many more things than any book – or most pilots – ever could.
