I just took a flying lesson yesterday and decided I will start my training at Aerowood aviation. I had a fantastic young flight instructor named David. Very professional environment and had a lot of planes to choose from. I'm excited to start my Pilot journey here!
Just wanted to thank Aerowood Aviation. I got an introductory flight for my son on his birthday. He said it was breathtaking and the most exciting gift he’s ever had. Hard to beat that. The pilot, Jacob was awesome and and Danielle who helped set up the flight was super helpful as well.
Thanks all around.
I wanted to take a "Discovery Flight," I decided to go with Aerowood Aviation as their modern website was transparent and offers all of the information that you need. This includes a moderately sized list of airplanes along with the hourly rate, shall I pursue my private pilot's license. Everyone in the office was relatively friendly, and David was a knowledgeable flight instructor.
The flight was awesome as I controlled the airplane for much longer than I anticipated...and it's safe to say that I have been bitten by the bug. I certainly will continue my lessons at Aerowood and I would (and have) recommended this company.
I have been flying since 1990 and for a time (10 years) owned an aircraft. I stopped flying about 5 years ago but in 2020 decided to resume. 9-11 then the financial crisis of 2008 decimated flying schools. The comeback has been slow, but flight training and rentals is going strong. Of all the flying establishments I've used over the past 31 years, this is the best managed. He runs a good business in that you can pick the price point you want. My price point is $200/hour and that gets me a nice Arrow. Scheduling and checking out the plane is ridiculously simple and refreshingly pleasant. I just wish they had some HP planes in Rock Hill.
Aerowood is a great place to learn to fly or be a renter. Lots of training aircraft, nice collection of advanced planes as you progress. I got training here for my Commercial and Multi-Engine and continue to be a regular renter. Lots of good instructors, friendly and helpful staff. I also think they might have the best rates around the Charlotte area. Monroe Airport is also terrific.
