We flew with Jim on a picture-perfect September day in upstate New York. On a one-hour ride, we passed over Lake George, Fort Ticonderoga, the southern tip of Lake Champlain, a good portion of the southern Adirondacks, and the headwaters of the Hudson River. The view from the air gave us a whole new appeciation for the lush expanses that passed underneath. From 2,000 feet , it's easy to see why Lake George is dubbed "The Queen of American Lakes."
The plane we flow in was a Cessna 182, which was roomy in the front and back with plenty of space for the pilot plus three people. It also featured a smooth ride, probably in part because of the retractable landing gear. Truly a beautiful flying machine.
In addition to being a really nice guy, Jim's skill with the aircraft was evident, as the ride was suberb. He also pointed out all of the major sights along the way and answered all of our questions about points of interest and the aircraft itself. And the landing couldn't have been smoother. A true professional!
I would highly recommend this adventure for anyone who appreciates private aviation or who wants to take in the amazing scenery of the Lake George area from a different perspective. It's worth it!
After we realized our plans for the following day wouldn’t work out, my wife and I reached out to Jim at Leaf Air to see if our spontaneous idea to go for a scenic flight over Lake George and the surrounding area would be possible. He graciously accepted and we soon took to the skies. He was very professional, provided knowledgeable insights for what we were flying over, and was great company for the hour or so we spent together. If we lived closer, I’d definitely seek out Jim’s experience for my future pilot training as he was clearly technically proficient. We went from not knowing what to do on the last day of our vacation to making a lifelong memory with Jim. Absolutely recommend.
What an amazing experience this was! Jim was very professional, friendly and made us feel very comfortable with the whole flight. He even took the time for us to find our house from the air and took us on the route we requested. We hope to book another flight with him someday and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a scenic flight around the area!
I recently had the pleasure of flying with LeafAir while showing some friends around who were visiting from out of town, and it was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, everything was seamless and professional.
Our pilot, Mel, was absolutely fantastic. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel completely at ease throughout the flight. The views were breathtaking over Lake George and the Adirondacks. The combination of beautiful landscapes and the thrill of flying made for an incredible adventure.
If you’re looking for a unique way to experience the area, I highly recommend LeafAir. It was a memorable part of our trip!
Beautifully maintained aircraft, really nice instructors, very fair prices. Seeing the Adirondacks from 2500’ was so special! Thank you to my instructor Melodie for an awesome morning!!
