I recently completed my Private Pilot License at Pilot in Training Flight Academy and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. I recently earned my Private Pilot License (PPL) with Pilot in Training Flight Academy, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From my very first discovery flight, I knew I was in the right place. My instructor, Jan (CFII), was incredible—he is really a great guy, highly experienced, patient, and always made me feel at ease. His great sense of humor was an added bonus! The owner, Slava, is also a great guy and genuinely cares about each student's progress. He was always flexible and responsive. I also had stage checks with Jeremy and Dost, who were both excellent instructors and added to the solid training I received. The academy's professionalism, organization, and strong emphasis on safety gave me the confidence I needed to ace my checkride. I an now continuing with my Instrument Rating (IFR) training with them. If you're considering flight training, I highly recommend Pilot in Training Flight Academy.

When I started my training, I wanted to find an instructor who would be with me for most (or all) of my training. I started training (8 lessons) with Jan then took a year break while waiting for the FAA to approve my medical. When I returned, Jan was ready to help me complete the training and we did it in just under 11 months. Jan was a fantastic, patient instructor. If you are going to sit shoulder to shoulder with someone for 50-80 hours, you need to like the individual, they need to adapt to your learning style, and you have to trust them. I really enjoyed my time with Jan. I flew with a few other instructors at PiT when Jan was at check rides with other students and thought they were all very good but Jan was exceptional and I cannot thank him enough. I rarely had lessons rescheduled - and almost always due to weather. I read some reviews of other schools with comments about broken equipment and/or cancellations. I never had a lesson cancelled for mechanical reasons and I completed 80% of my flight time in the same aircraft, which I thought helped with consistency. Slava, who owns the school, set up a nice classroom environment, has hangers for the aircraft (no time wasted de-icing the aircraft before winter lessons), and he has always been very responsive and easy to deal with. The hangers are organized and clean, and give you confidence that the owner and instructors do a good job caring for the aircraft. I had an excellent experience with PiT and would highly recommend them to anyone who is starting their flight training.
