After the bill was settled through my insurance, they continued to send delinquent notices. Don't trust them. They cashed the check from my insurance but are still billing me. Their system was down when I called to speak with them.
The average all ambulance ride ranges from $940 to $1,277 but Acadian Ambulance Service are overcharged $2500 either urgent or not. After insurance process for amount they required to pay and patient has to pay copay, but they are still not satisfied. They are so greedy. To whoever people out there please be careful of this service, they will scam your money.
Pick Medexpress ambulance service, they charge very reasonable price range and better service and very professional when you call them about the billing
You'd be better off hitch-hiking. This company preys on the vulnerable. I was transferred by Acadian Ambulance Services from a small town emergency room in Louisiana to a larger hospital in a nearby town for emergency surgery in December 2022. My health insurer paid nearly $1000 for this half hour trip. Acadian Ambulance then sent me a "balance bill" for $1,790.17. I contacted both Acadian and my insurer and was told that the two entities negotiate an amount between them that satisfies each of them. Ambulance companies with low ethical standards will then "balance bill" patients whose insurance companies have already paid for the service(s).
This is prohibited by Louisiana's Balance Billing Act, and I am now considering legal action.
To make matters even worse, my boyfriend followed the ambulance that transported me to the neighboring town and told me afterward that he was afraid I wouldn't survive the trip, because the ambulance was weaving all over the road. He thought on more than one occasion that the ambulance was going to crash -- and not because of any external factors. And they charged $3000 for the pleasure!
To the two women who picked me up and brought me to Abbeville General. The one in particular heavy set light skin one. Find a new career. You are so disgusting for how you treated me. How you spoke to me. The way you tried to shame me but truly I’m embarrassed for you. How aweful it must be to work for an ambulance service with no compassion. Or selective compassion. Your karma will return to you ma’am.
This was one on the worst experiences I have ever had. The LACK of training is appalling for veterans and PTSD. If a paramedic named Julie shows up I would not allow her entry into your home if you in fact care or love the person in distress.
