Im only speaking for the Macon campus, I would only recommend this school if you live in the Macon area or if you like a quiet school. it just isn’t socialize because maybe less than 500 people stay on campus and the halls smell terrible and there isn’t no fun activities to do except play the game.
Being raised in the city of Macon I've had honors of seeing the good, bad, and the ugly of Macon State College, now Middle Ga. State University is such a site to see as it blossoms into a Major University!
This school will change the community and lives in this area for the better!
Middle Georgia came to McDonough HighSchool giving out quick decisions to Highschool seniors towards the beginning of this year (2023). A lot of kids applied because it was one of their college advisor’s requirements of applying to atleast 3 colleges. Of course everyone received immediate acceptances. Well my daughter ended up attending Albany State University and staying on campus. Apparently MGSU had sent her out a school schedule unbeknownst to us. We weren’t expecting it because she hadn’t attended any orientation or given any indication that she would be attending this school besides applying, which many kids do right? Well her first year at ASU is off to a great start until around September the financial aid office at ASU informed my daughter that her financial aid was given to MGSU and she had a balance of 5 thousand and some odd dollars because they can’t pay two schools. My question is if she never attended any school beside ASU, how could they take her financial aid???? So she started the long process of reaching out to teachers (per financial aid at MGSU) and telling them to drop her from the classes so that her aid can be returned to ASU. Well professors wasn’t answering emails or anything she had to take it a step further and reach out to the deans. Long story short they (deans) told her that they informed the professors and it will be handled after hearing the story. Well I’m here to tell you that it was not handled!!!! The day before my daughter was released from school she was informed that MGSU did NOT return her aid and she still had a balance and it had to be paid in full by Jan. 2, 2024 or she will be dropped from all her classes. How is this legal??? I reached out to federal student aid who informed me that her financial aid was good and that they do not reimburse financial aid after it has been rewarded it has to be returned from MGSU back to ASU. Of course when we reached out to MGSU after being notified that they still had her financial aid, they went on winter break before ASU! Do not and I repeat do not be tricked by their immediate decisions when coming out to your senior’s school. They are preying on minorities students. And clearly they are getting away with it. Well they picked the wrong student this time!!!
This school is a Scam please always look at what they bill you … The advisors will steer you in the direction for the school to make more money off of you. I have multiple examples and emails of me correcting “mistakes” they made on my billing. I only stayed till senior year because I transferred in as a sophomore. The lack of respect for you as a student is sickening. No one actually cares .. not the coaches, staff , anyone. Dorms are filthy hence why I’m online now and there’s a fee for EVERYTHING as soon as you step foot on that Cochran campus. If I could sue this school I would for many reasons, mold, scamming etc please go somewhere else.
