2 months agoCan't wait to soon or later start Flight School at SunState Powered by Acadamy of Aviation. Under a new management, they seems pretty understanding of my needs. Met some great CFI's yesterday and students, also mechanics. The staff is incredibly friendly and their instructors take each class seriously with a lot of details on each student’s training. Currently working on my PPL through their accelerated program. 6 years agoWell maintained aircraft and dedicated staff. Structured progress checks can increase expected hour count and as such must be factored into budgeting. However, by the end I was very well prepared for the practical examination. Got my PPL after 1 month training with them.

a year agoMy experience at Sunstate was absolutely spectacular. I started my PPL training with Grant on November 28th and finished December 17th, completing all course requirements in only 20 days. Grant was a phenomenal instructor and always went the extra mile for me. He understood my time-sensitive goals before I began my training, and so he did everything he could to ensure we stayed on track, always offering extra flights and ground lessons to compensate for the occasional bad weather days. Grant pushed me to be the best pilot I could be and gave me the tools and resources I needed to ace the course objectives both in flight and on the ground. Grant was also very considerate of my money. Flying can be expensive, so he avoided redundancy, which helped keep costs down. In addition to Grant, I had Zach as my progress check instructor. Zach really knows his stuff! He cares about his students and really wants them to learn aviation intuitively. He’s a very approachable guy who loves seeing his students succeed, and provided me with exceptional guidance throughout the course. The aircraft fleet is in fantastic condition. All of the planes have been maintained very well and it gave me peace of mind starting on day one. I flew in the 152 and I absolutely loved it—a very nimble beast! Lastly, Steve is a great guy and a very accomplished individual. It makes sense why his business is so successful. He only hires high quality instructors! I’ll be returning for my instrument rating at some point, and I really can’t wait. If you want exciting and high-quality flight training, this is your place! Thanks again everyone! -GS

a year agoGreat facility. Great instructors. Great aircrafts. Great program. Sunstate Aviation has so much to offer at such a reasonable price. If you are interested in this program, I highly recommend. Their Private Pilot course is as good as they advertise and you can definitely complete it in the ballpark of a month for as little as 11 grand if you really put the time and effort into it.
