7 years agoMy wife bought me a trial flight for my 60th birthday, It wished it had been for my 21st! It was the most amazing time, my instructor John is an absolute Star, so cool and calm and anticipated my every question ( and there were a few!). I couldn't believe how quickly the controls were handed over to me, the Piper Warrior handled like a dream. I soon learned flying the plane was the relatively easy bit, watching all the instruments, the radio, navigation, and not least looking out for other aircraft increases the workload a hundred fold. Keeping all the balls in the air made my head spin. So thank you Surrey & Kent FC, and especially John, who made my whole afternoon an extremely pleasurable one and a birthday to remember ( Thanks to my wife too! w)

9 years agoCompleted my PPL in August 2014 with full time club instructor Judy - can't rate her highly enough. Thoroughly professional, experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. Biggin Hill Airport is second to none - all the benefits of a fully operational business airport, but small enough to provide a comfortable learning environment, on the doorstep of a beautiful training area in Kent. 2 hard runways provide resilience in wind and weather (within reason!). The only downside is that the costs are higher that flying out of a smaller airfield like Rochester or Headcorn.
