in the last weekFinally got to enjoy my Christmas present for flying lesson. This was the second attempt as the one previously had to cancel due to fog. This time, it was crystal clear and could see for miles. The airfield is an old ww2 field, and you take off from an original runway. The staff are well organised and very friendly and the instructors make you feel at ease. I was allowed to take control once we had reached the correct height. Totally amazing experience. You can call in for a snack or drink from the little cafe and learn about the history of the airfield. All in all a great time.

3 years agoVisited to go to a classic car meet, the car meet was small but had a nice variety of cars. They have a small cafe for snacks and drinks. They operate fixed wing and helicopters from the site you can learn to fly from £68 just contact them and sort out what you need. They can also arrange flights in classic aircraft contact them direct to find out more. The runway here is Tarmac and it has a nice easy approach and exit although you often have to deal with a cross wind.

4 months agoBought my husband a flight lesson for here. The staff were lovely and had a nice garden bar area for you to wait in. My only complaint is the disorganisation. The first booking was canceled, but they didn't ring us to inform us. When I rebooked, i informed the receptionist on booking it was a 1 hour lesson, but when we arrived, the pilot and receptionist thought it was half an hour. My husbands lesson was booked for 12 pm and he didn't go up until after 3 pm. They put others (regulars) before us who arrived much later, which I feel was unfair.

2 years agoGreat little Airfield with ww2 history having the B17 wing flying out of there. Wacky Wabbit flight was awsome, I had the battle of Britain extreme fighter package. Dave my pilot was great, very informative with the manouvers and rolls he performed. Hats off and respect to all those brave young men sent out in to battle with just a few hours of training. Makes you think of what they went through.
