a month agoCan't imagine why anyone would bank here. You can put your money in but good luck transferring it out. Had three transfers cancelled without any notification "for fraud prevention". No reply to my emailed complaint. On another occasion spent 40 minutes on the phone to get another transfer initiated and at the end, all they would say is that they will call me back within 24 hours. Better to deal with a real bank. Moving all my money there ASAP.

However, I am pleased to update my review to reflect the positive resolution of this issue. Tangerine Bank has successfully recovered my stolen funds and returned the $3000 to my account. Their customer service team was responsive and diligent in addressing my concerns, and I appreciate their efforts in resolving this matter. However, it did take more than one month to resolve the issue, which was quite stressful. Thank you, Tangerine Bank, for your assistance and for restoring my faith in your services.

a week agoDo NOT bank here. They do not protect their customers. My information was compromised on their end and I had $800 stolen from me. Which makes sense sinxe their CSR work from home. Tangerine will not help me. Absolutely devastated by the lack of caring. Do not bank here.

2 weeks agoWorst bank ever asked for my brother money to be return back to Osap and they refused when calling them they answered some hang up, some have you on hold for over 2 hrs and some giving you attitude and some even lied saying account is closed and money being sent back. This is happening for two months now and all we are getting is bull shit story. All osap is asking for them to return back the money so they can issue my brother his cheque that’s all and they refuse to send the money back. Plz don’t use this bank is best you get a real bank cause this bank is really bad. Am calling for three days back to back and all am getting is different type of stories and none of them making sense. We need the money to return back to Osap and close the account that’s all.

2 months agoThey seemed alright when I first opened my account years ago, but maybe I was just fortunate or they've gone downhill in recent years. My account was put on hold a few months ago, but I never received any notice from them so I had no idea. After all, they were still allowing me to make deposits into my account. I just couldn't move my money once it's in there. I only realized when I tried to make a transfer recently and couldn't. So I called them up and learned (after about an hour on hold) that a cheque deposit I made a couple months ago had been flagged on suspicion of having a forged signature. It was not forged, but apparently no one at the banks thought to contact the cheque issuer to confirm this. They just went ahead and froze my account. The suspicious cheque never bounced back either. By the way, the cheque was less than $10. As if anyone would go to the trouble of forging a signature on an amount so small. 🤦 Anyway, the service rep said they would have my case reviewed and I should get a call back in a few days. A week passed and no word from Tangerine, so I called again (with another 1 hr hold) and was told a supervisor will call me by the end of the weekend. Another week+ passed, and at this point I decided to just close the account. Account closing was easy and fast. I felt relieved to have this issue resolved, and would have left things at that, except the supervisor finally called me a few hours after my account closure to inform me that their decision still stands and they need to terminate their relationship with me--as if I'm some sketchy fraudster. To be fair, the customer service people I dealt with over the phone were great, but I am thoroughly unimpressed with the way the actual banking processes were handled. There are plenty of banks out there, and I would suggest looking elsewhere if you don't want your money held hostage due to poor communication on the bank's part.
