Outstanding day out for sons 16th birthday. 30 minute flight only £65 which I felt was very good value for such an experience. There is a cafe and a museum there as well as a viewing area. Can't fault it
Further to my previous post, the new main hangar is now in full use & has enhanced the overall view of the main apron & makes everything look a lot smarter.
The control tower & new main building/ terminal is also complete but still awaiting fitting out & commissioning.
Speaking to ATC staff, they still don't know when they will be moving into the new tower... I will update as I when I find out more.
Great set up. A challenge to fly into, but very doable. Friendly people who are interested in the operation and put themselves out to help. Well worth a visit.
Thanks.
Had a visit here yesterday as part of a work training day. Everyone was so knowledgeable and informative, it was a really interesting visit. The airport are always happy to host small groups of visitors and share their wealth of knowledge with them. Thank you to all the guys, from the airport, the sky school and National Grid, who showed us around their helicopter.
