I'm currently in the final stages of my PPL (private pilot) working towards the full Commercial Pilot program. With all the time I spend here, McAir has become my second home. The instructors are excellent, the planes are up-to-date and well maintained for a training center (my flight lessons get cancelled due to weather much more frequently than for maintenance), and the environment is professional and welcoming. Notable benefits include -- Training at a towered airport right from the get-go has helped me learn airport operations much better and faster than had I gone with a non-towered location. And being in the Rocky Mountains has exposed me to the various weather-related conditions that I will encounter in the 'real-world'. It's tough work, it doesn't come easy, and it's well worth the investment. Highly recommend!

My husband takes lessons here and has had nothing but a great experience and great things to say about it...he says if you go to take lessons here, you won't regret it. They have a great friendly staff that will do everything they can to accommodate your level of flying. He rented a plane and took us flying now that he is licensed and it was such a great experience! The plane was clean, comfortable, and worked great (thank goodness). Since it is a far it was nice that they have restrooms you can use and we were able to rent a headset for $10 for our son since we only own 2 pairs. Loved how they were decorated for Halloween in the pilot shop and how everyone who has taken lessons writes their name and date on the back room wall.

Imagine finally getting a chance to pursue your dream of getting a pilots license. You have a great experience with the instructor and are looking forward to finally starting lessons and then the representative spends most of their time explaining the process of lessons by telling you that you should look elsewhere and that maybe you don't know if you want this enough. Or that the course that you researched extensively and decided you wanted to follow isn't the one that they want to teach you. Ask for Austin. You'll almost never wanna fly again. Don't spend your money here there are other flight schools in the area who are more welcoming

Completed my private pilot training at McAir in 2018 and though I was satisfied and had nothing but great experiences with McAir, I decided to pursue instrument and commercial training at a much larger, nationwide program in Dallas. Though all of my training up to this point had been 141, while attending the “name brand” school I felt a lack of personal attention or interest in MY success. A combination of unexpected life events and COVID issues forced me to discontinue my training there which, fortunately, brought me back to McAir to finish up. After having experienced other facilities, fleets and programs, I feel that I am where I want and need to be. The staff is friendly and helpful, the instructors are committed to student’s safety and proficiency, and the fleet is immaculate! It may be somewhat more expensive than other operations in the metro area, but well worth it. I recommend McAir to those that I care about and somewhere else to those that I don’t.

I was excited to continue my passion and I moved from Oregon to Colorado with the promise of in house examination authority. I ended up working for McAir and had my manager Terry tell me I "should crawl into a ditch and die" because I refused the covid vaccine. Mcair directly crashed my aviation career. They want your money, not to enable you to succeed. The instructors are great, the planes are okay. But the institution that runs it is a hungry and greedy force that will consume you. They will lie to you, and give you false promises to put you into debt. Terry will charge students for faulty planes claiming that they get to log taxi time. It was painful to give tours knowing the simulator was grossly outdated and that I was helping them harvest new customers. I know they cannot control the weather, but flying via a school contract will set you back another 4 months if there isn't an examiner ready, and you will be priced out and screwed. Keeping harsher words to myself, but now I'm reliving the life I sought to escape from through education and passion with 36k in student loan debt. Would not reccomend, the coorperation only wants your money. Thanks Terry and Todd. Special thanks to Terry and his current crew at the time for promising in house examination authority.
