2 months agoI’ve been with Intact through Costco for years for home and auto. They are very price competitive. But that comes at the cost of service. Some brokers are better than others. Expect to be on hold to speak to a receptionist and then be on hold again for over an hour to be transferred to a broker just to ask a question or make changes (their web presence for FAQs or self service is weak). This happened to me repeatedly to the point I switched providers.

2 months agoAwful experience with insurance claim, for a no fault claim. After accepting that the rental car could only be returned near the end of the week, which was being noted on our file, they refused to allow us two additional days so the car could be driven back to Ottawa. After multiple attempts in trying to reach them, they went silent on my pleas to accommodate our situation. I did not even know where to return the vehicle, as different information existed on multiple forms, and again, no courtesy response to help clarify. Now, my daughter is driving late at night, after a long week of school, to return the vehicle in time, and since I cannot make the 5h00 pm closure date, I will still be charged extra for the rental. This lack of respect and communication is absurd. I have been a client for over 30 years, with only one small vehicle claim until now, and this is the treatment they provide. I will never ever continue to insure my items with them as this is the most awful experience I have ever witnessed by a company in my entire life. After receiving the response that they would be happy to connect, see below, I called the number provided and have yet to receive a call from them.

6 months agoJennifer Allin was awesome to deal with. i called asking for some advice with a claim and she was extremely attentive and made sure i was looked after. She was very friendly and extremely helpful. We need more adjusters with her positive attitude and dedication. Highly recommend!

a week agoDO NOT whatever you do - download the app - It never works properly, lies about your phone use, your speed, and won't change you from driver to passenger. I have complained multiple times and it never gets fixed.

6 months agoThe absolute worst experience with these incompetent and uncaring people. My adjuster was basically non existent for the majority of my claim. I tried to reach her for a week, as well as 3 other people including my broker, and no call was never returned. When she finally did call, it was regarding something we spoke about earlier and had zero clue as to what was going on. When it came to payment, I was told I can do auto deposit, so I waited the alotted 24-48 hours. So I had to reach out when it obviously never came, and was told it needed be sent to the address of the company the car was under. No one there had the common courtesy to call or email me, to tell me of this development. When I checked my phone to see how many times I had spoken with them, in a span of 2 weeks, I called 17 times, and my call was returned once. I wish I was making this up. Terrible, awful company. Stay far far away
