3 weeks agoI am involved in an active arbitration matter with Mr. Robert J.C. Deane. The other party was a client of BLG, and Mr. Deane did not disclose this conflict upon being agreeing to be the arbitrator. The lawyer who was involved with the other party was Mr. Blair Rebane, who ironically is a partner of Mr. Deane. None of this information was disclosed before the arbitration. I find it odd that both the lawyers listed are active members of the law society, in which both of them were called to the Bar around the same year. It is difficult to believe that neither of them discussed this file before arbitration. I would expect more ethical conduct from Canada's largest legal firm. Think twice before you agree to have someone from this firm arbitrate your matters! Highly unethical!

5 months agoThe Law Partner from BLG invited me into his office July 12th, 2023 btw 5:30-6:30pm to reach a settlement. He was not listed as my legal opposition. I was verbally assaulted, bullied, threatened and weaponized with an unfair offer. They represented the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce which I sued for breaching my student loan contract by four times the agreement. This resulted in a decade of hardship. Instead of diplomacy and cooperation I was treated with such disrespect! They withheld my bank records for nearly a year, delayed my trial and destroyed my credit. SHAME ON YOUR ABUSIVE TACTICS!!! I’ve recorded the meeting, especially like when he takes his fangs out on me, admitted to abusing power and privilege, ridiculing a student for being abused by big greedy banks.
