An extreme nightmare to work here in my entire life. Trauma left affect my whole life, almost ruined my life. The level of safety in the work environment is worrying, employees are often injured, and the turnover rate remains high. Safety hazards were reported to management, but no one cared. Machines are old, plant is cold. Random people come in, even someones with mental health issue. Not a surprise to see police or Ministry of labour investigator to visit this busy plant. Barely support from HR, they provided limited info to mislead employees. Management in a completely mess, problems are never solved. Less training and less supervision since the day 1. one of the assembler said, "Even if I had money, I will buy nothing from Diamond, people without any experience can be put in the frontline to make a airplane, care about your safety!" The management and the company's culture has been rotten to the root, toxic is everywhere. Males harass females, male supervisor naturally use women washroom, and make sexual jokes on females. Not surprised to see sexual attacks and discriminations, and violence in the place. Once you got hired, they force people to sign [overwork commitment], they wanted so squeeze the last drop from the employees and pay as least as they can. If you hate someone, refer the guy to work here. His life will be devastrated soon.

Update to my saga After all these issues and two flying seasons lost, I have had to replace the engine as they cannot find what is wrong. Of course, this was at my expense, including the many hours of faultfinding. Diamond coordinated some meetings, but didn’t hesitate to end engagement as soon as possible. They agreed to provide an air box (as incorrect air box was fitted) and digital tach as a gesture to assist. Only issue I have is they upgraded the aircraft to the A1 configuration and should have installed the correct air box when the upgrade was completed at the factory many years ago, so really a double sided gesture. Engine has been installed, but we cannot complete without the digital tach. Have called and emailed repeatedly without success. Unfortunately, it looks like they are not interested in assisting me and now I have lost another season. New shop is very good and responsive, but Diamond Aircraft Canada are not interested in providing a follow through customer service to a small customer like me. I can only assume they are only interested in high paying customers. Very disappointed with this experience and will never own another Diamond Product. Will be selling as soon as the digital tach is provided so we can complete the installation of the new engine. I don’t even want to fly it at this point. All in all, terrible customer service and overall service with the exception of the new shop I have been dealing with. Good luck to all you small paying customers! -———————————————————————— Purchased a 1996 DA-20 and love the aircraft. Issue is trusting the Diamond Authorized Service Centres. Purchased aircraft with recent 100hr inspection from authorized service centre and had pre-buy done by another authorized service centre. Only minor items found which were corrected. The issue is, in my opinion, complacency which placed me in a precarious situation. After flying the aircraft from Kitchener, ON to Nanaimo, BC, I was informed by the local authorized service centre the cylinder compression were well below tolerance. After further investigation, it was discovered the previous service centres were using an older manual. This top end overhaul cost $15K which also uncovered a very obvious crack. Albeit, many will say I should have seen it also, but as a fairly inexperienced pilot, my trained eye was not that good. Second issue was after 40hrs of flight time since purchase, brought aircraft in for annual inspection at the local authorized service centre. They found numerous items which should have been identified during the previous 100hr and pre-buy as, in their professional opinion, the 40hrs would not have cause the damage and wear found. I was informed by Transport Canada it is my responsibility to ensure the maintenance is properly completed. As such, I have downloaded all manuals and studied them closely. I must now oversee the work being done by professionals even though I am not an aircraft mechanic. Total cost of the blunder is $35K. Lesson to be learned, don't trust the Diamond Authorized Service Centres until they prove themselves and build a relationship with you. This comes at a cost of numerous questions, skeptical analysis and much research from the owner/pilot, as all will tell me, it is the pilot's responsibility to ensure the maintenance is completed in accordance with the manual.

I went for a tour of the plant, and was very lucky our guide was a young and informative engineer. The plant is spotless and all the people are quite happy. Looks like a great place to work. If you ever get a chance to tour this facility don't pass it up. Thanks again Diamond!!!!!
