2 years agoAbsolutely an amazing experience. Flying a plane was a surprise burthday present for my son who turned 30. The instructor was professional and through from take off to landing. Highly recommend.

11 months agoToo bad Google won't let me use less than one star. Where do I start. They use the governments outdated hour/price estimate. Even if SBA had good instructors who cared about their jobs this wouldn't be achievable, especially in this environment. There are plenty of other options for flight schools around the area I assure you. I was completely clueless about the world of aviation before coming here so I believed that how they were teaching was normal but it is NOT, do not fall for it. There is zero structure to learning here also. Instructors would fight with other pilots on the radios, argue with ATC over the slightest remark, yell at students who they didn't teach correctly, and frankly, grew up in a different time and may forget that they actually taught the wrong thing (no joke). Much more can be said but I don't want to waste your whole day. Whoa this place is bad, go ELSEWHERE.

a year agoHighly recommended - rented two 172 at South Bay for a cross-country trip CA - NV - AZ. The team at South Bay went above and beyond to support us in our trip. The flight ops are highly professional, staff and instructors very approachable and helpful. Highly recommend South Bay to fellow aviators and hope to be back soon! Regards from Germany

3 years agoask for masa he is a great instructor 👍 i took the first flight for $125 and i didn't know what to expect but it was an awesome experience and i can't wait to continue my lessons! i can't help but be jealous everyone i see a personal plane flying in the sky because i wish it was myself up there. an injury is holding me back but as soon as I'm healed up I'll be returning! I'll update my review after i receive my pilot's license.
