Best school to start your professional or recreational flying training!
I have done my PPL on the steam gauge PA38 and Night Rating on the glass cockpit PA28 at this wonderful school. I am interested in doing the BIR with them too after some time building.
The aircraft are extremely well maintained and it is encouraged to report any problem, for it to have it seen to and fixed.
The school is very flexible and fit in with your schedule. You give the dates and period of day when you want to fly and the frequency (from one flight every month to three times a day, you choose !!!). Then a proposal schedule is made for the next 1-3 weeks and only after you agree for each individual booking, those bookings become definite. Flight lesson bookings can be made between 1 and 4 weeks on forehand. The school runs 7/7 morning until evening (9am-9pm).
The instructors are great, they have a lot of aviation knowledge and very varied too, from commercial pilots in Boeings to flying an open-cockpit tailplane to Egypt, from flying at FL70 across the English channel in a PA38 to mountain flying in Austria... The instructors speak French or English. For me as a Flemish person it was necessary to have all of my training in English as my technical French is not upto scratch (yet).
The pricing is extremely competitive and you can choose to pay as you fly or get discounts for 10-25 hrs packs.
The school is located at the international airport Charleroi (EBCI), also called Brussels South. You are taught to fly amongst the big commercial airliners and business jets, which gives a big confidence boost to fly to other towered airports and in controlled airspace with ease, instead of avoiding this and confining yourself to class G.
The school works with an online "Flightsapp" where you can view your debriefings which is made of every flight, the points you have covered and will cover, points to improve etc... It also contains checklists, briefings, school notams, pilot calculating tools, your flight bookings, theory quizzes, starter pack of local aerodrome charts... and loads more! The training exercises and items are very detailed so you are always making progress with specific goals. Also if you fly with different instructors (which you can choose) they know out of the debriefings and the exercise items where you are in your flying practice. It is what makes the training very professional and complete. Nothing is overlooked.

I am currently doing my night rating with BAS.
To keep it short, I don't have a single complaint or even suggestion for improvement.
Everything is on the highest level, aircraft, instructors and not to forget the office, I felt very well taken care of by Alexandra.
It has been a great experience.
The best training I ever dreamed of! I started my PPL training in some flying clubs located in the North-East of France. It was a uncontrolled airfield. I had the priviledge to do my first solo flight after 12 hours. After 20 hours, I was still waiting for my instructor to finally start the navigation part and this never happened. On top of that I couldn't cross borders anymore to join the airfield because of covid restrictions (I live in Belgium). So, at a certain point I decided to leave the flying club in France and continue my training in a real flight school following the current EASA program. I made some researches and got rapidly my registration at Brussels Aviation School. I was a bit impressed at first because I had never flown in a controlled airspace before with busy traffic airport like EBCI and doing the ATC in english. 50 hours Total Time later and holding my PPL, I am taking-off and landing between Airbus 320, Boeing 737, Airbus 340 and sometimes if we are lucky enough the F16!!! Can you imagine that? I highly recommend this school specifically because the training is top notch, the instructors are very experimented and professionals, The ground courses and briefing sessions are well explained and airplanes are great and in good condition. I have flown on the 3 PA38s they own and gonna fly on PA28 very soon. I will do my night rating at BAS for sure. I hope my review will help you to make the right choice :)
