For a long time I have heard many good things about AFT and Nathan, but the course, the instructor, the staff and the infrastructure far exceeded my expectations. Nathan not only knows the subjects inside out but also delivers the classes in the most dynamic and fun way I have ever experienced. The classroom has an excellent infrastructure with several big TVs to easily follow the content, and enough aviation memorabilia around the walls to classify it as an aviation museum! Clean kitchens, toilets, a pilot shop and a wonderful sunbathed outside area overlooking the runway and flight line just add to the experience and excellent infrastructure. I highly recommend AFT to any aviation student needing to get through ATPL theory. Nathan will get you through!

For those looking to complete your ATPL(A) theory this is the best place in Australia. Doing the AFT course will not guarantee you will pass but they provide all the resources, education and support to get you ready for the exam. (Learning is up to you). Nathan is an incredible instructor who has a wealth of knowledge and makes tedious topics enjoyable. Brett* and Vanessa and the rest of the team downstairs are friendly, accommodating and professional which make all aspects of the AFT experience seamless. It is a large cost but the product is worth the price.

Best course you’ll ever do for professional exams. Nathan and his team are so on the ball at beating CA$A at their own ridiculous game of failure rates. They teach you everything you need to know. The course notes are very well put together and the online practice exams are simply a must! Thoroughly prepared for the exam. Live in course the way to go for sure to give yourself the best chance of passing first time.

Having self studied everything up to ATPL subjects, Nathan became my first and only aviation theory instructor I’ve had in my career… and for good reason. I saved for the best. Without a doubt the leading aviation theory provider in Australia, particularly at ATPL level. If you’ve ever considered ATPL’s then the chances are you’ve heard of AFT (Advanced Flight Theory) and considered at minimum their materials as a reference guide to self study, or more probably have or are considering choosing to do the face to face course with Nathan, or know someone that has done it previously. Of all the Australian (ATPL) pilots I’ve met, I estimate 50-80% of them studied under Nathan, including to name just a few, a mate that flies 380’s for Qantas, another that’s flown 777’s, 330’s & 737’s for VA or lastly one that flew 320’s and now 787’s for JQ. I think it’s fair and reasonable to assert that Nathan and AFT are the Platinum / Diamond standard of what is available for ATPL’s in Australia. To highlight just a few things: *Nathan is a brilliant instructor. The best instructors engage their audience (no matter how dry the material), and Nathan is outstanding at doing this with his high energy delivery, funny stories, demonstrations and importantly memes. More importantly it’s as if Nathan wrote the manual of standards for CASA. He knows it all, inside and out, and is able to ensure students focus on understanding the most important parts and can apply it under exam conditions. His method, material, practice exams etc are proven, tried and tested! *Nathan is supported by an amazing team in Brett, Vanessa, Kate & co who ensure the facility is operating at a high standard all the time. The team are well oiled, positive and professional, and nothing is ever too much to ask for. *Having moved to a brand new purpose built facility in the last twelve months, the school is a great atmosphere to be in. The classroom is large and spacious, the breakout area awesome in that it over looks the apron at YBSU, there is parking (free) nearby or even closer if you get in early, and cafes and food options in the terminal for those that don’t bring their food with them and use the fridges, microwaves, + free tea & coffee. *the dogs (Lando & Ruby) always brighten the day of those in the class when they visit or spend the day. I’ve never been so happy to recommend a business and would happily recommend AFT to my friends, colleagues, family or anyone else considering studying ATPL’s and wanting to pass first time. Best money I’ve spent so far in my aviation training.
