5 years agoWas at the Honeywell plant on Sat. for their family day tour weekend. Only time that family members can get thru front doors where the LARGE guards (and yes I was told they are normally armed but not that particular day cuz of so many little tikes running around) are posted. My son-in-law has worked there for years so that was how we got invited. Really fascinating stuff in those buildings most of which us normal Joe's can't go into. After all they do a lot of govt contracts, most we don't ever know about or hear about. I don't even know what my son in law does or where his work area was cuz his stuff requires him to have a TOP SECRET security clearance which he has had since he was in the navy and participated in Desert Storm and the follow. Couldn't tell u what he did or even what ship he was on but I sure am proud of that guy!!! Just on a personal note ----he and my daughter have a son, my only grandchild, who is now 5. When the little guy turned about 2 1/2 they started to notice some concerning things about him .....took him to his pediatrician who finally did a workup and they found out that he was autistic which explained a lot. Well Dad has worked his butt off at Honeywell and still comes home every night and spends every minute he can with mom by his side teaching this little guy all of the lessons the therapists from Johns Hopkins gives them to do and it has been amazing!! He feels very strongly that being able to work at Honeywell has given him the opportunities needed to spend time with their son! OK so now I'm in tears again so I'm going to sign off.
