Maintenance Management is terrible. They are all about keeping down time for planes low at the cost of safety. During my time there I found multiple cracks and non airworthy aircraft. What the DOM doesn't understand is the maintenance department isn't there to generate money but to ensure all planes are fit for flight. They've had accident before and wonder why they keep planes go down for maintenance. Why rush a inspection because the schools needs planes only to fly for 5 hours because some lazy tech didn't do their job. They are a Part 145 but everyone thinks that doesn't apply to them. Their hanger, when I was there, had planes down that were in there prior for 100 hour or annual inspections. I've inspected planes that hadn't been fully open for inspection. "Pencil whipping", I do not recommend any student come here or A&P until FAA insures that the DOM and Chief inspector and Day shift lead get investigated. Attached to this review is picture of what happens when maintenance gets rushed. Lucky the plane landed before any serious could happen or pilot knew what happened.

Flying here is an absolute joy. The front desk staff is super nice and accommodating! Instructors are incredibly helpful and want to see you succeed. The planes are well maintained and the in-house mechanics are so awesome! Very helpful and knowledgeable. They have lots of planes with great prices and are just an overall great company! 11/10 would come back again!

Having flown here for three years I have to say renting from this company has been a positive experience. The rates are fair compared tot he rest of the valley as well as the Aircraft are in excellent condition with very attentive maintenance. The instructors are friendly and work with you to get you through your rating at your pace. Aircraft availability can be sparse during the weekdays though if you fly mostly during the weekend then its a shoo-in. Overall I give westwind a 5 star rating! As both a school and a Place to rent for the fun of it! -Keith Douglass

Love renting from here!! I wish I was able to fly more than the couple of times I have renting from them. Of course work and time do affect that. I will say compared to other flight schools in the valley they're pretty affordable. I am going up later this afternoon to do a checkout in one of their G1000 172's. For about 150 per hour that's hard to beat compared to other flight schools. Why pay 120 an hour to rent a plane with old shady avionics? Vice versa why pay 180 or over 200 an hour for a C-172 G1000? Unless you're doing complex or multi-engine training the higher price makes sense. Westwind is definitely hitting the nail on the head with their service!!

Came for a flight over the Grand Canyon for my sisters birthday. Unfortunately it was very windy and we decided not to go; however they treated us with 1st class service STILL. They hung a banner for my sister, took pics and treated us with the full experience. I highly recommend their services. REALLY nice and welcoming people. Best in class service.
