A 5 month sabbatical from my website (I continued to write for my print magazine, Airbuz) was well spent. I engaged myself in the design and development of a General Aviation Flight Simulator. Either click HERE to know more, or visit my section, “Projects”.
I must thank my readers who were both patient and concerned. I hope you like the simulator!
And yes, I’m back!
What was the cost of producing the sim and what level would be the equivalent level of training device in the United States such as AATD, BATD etc. Can the components be purchased off the shelf.
It is capable of being certified as an AATD. The simulator has been designed as a mix of few off-the-shelf components and custom made hardware & software developed by the Flying Engineer). For more details, please send an email to the ID listed in the section “About”.
I have seen the simulator specially designed by you and it is really impressive. I am staying in India and like to know how much it could cost if I placed an order to you.
Only wanna input on few general things, The website design is perfect, the content material is very wonderful : D.
I love the idea and look of your sim. When I saw the control input for a turn it looked a little sluggish. It reminded me of a DC-8. Small singles usually are more responsive. What kind of control system are you using. Can you simulate different aircraft? Is this a truly open system. What is your intention with the project? How could I acquire a sim and how much would it cost?
Thanks

Yup! Different aircraft. The controls weren’t calibrated at the time of the video, and yes, they were absolutely sluggish. Took a lot to turn!
